I booked this place to entertain a food magazine editor and requested a special surprise—only to have it completely ignored. No acknowledgment, no effort, just a regular, forgettable meal.
The reception staff, a man and a woman, were too busy chatting to notice guests, let alone greet them. Their attitude was downright rude. Given that other reviews mention the same issue, it’s clearly a pattern.
Whether it was incompetence or sheer indifference, they failed to relay my request, ruining what was supposed to be an important evening. An absolute disgrace.
Safe to say, this place won’t be making it into any food magazine. If you care about your guest or your occasion, go somewhere that actually gives a damn.

Upmarket steakhouse with fabulous food, if a little pricey. The atmosphere is good. We did feel a little a little bit forgotten about by the waiting staff at times, though. I would never the less recommend if your wallet permits.

Good steakhouse. Lovely atmosphere. Very nice servers. The steak was good too but overcooked. It’s a shame, would have been 5 stars otherwise

This was my first time visiting Hawksmoor. The staff were attentive and friendly. Spacious and comfy ambience. I ordered Prawn Cocktail and Filet with chips, the prawn was delicious, however, the filet was overcooked, it was not medium. I was a little disappointed with this quality.

Great steak restaurant. Pretty expensive but for a special occasion it was perfect. It was my sons birthday treat and they made a real fuss of him. The food and wine were delicious.

A fine steakhouse serving fine steaks. Waiters friendly and professional, offering solid advice about cuts and portion sizes. The bone marrow and potted beef are a must try too. With thirst quenching cocktails to boot. Can’t recommend it highly enough

Such a waste of money! Not worth it!
We didn't realise that the menu is priced by grams. When the waitress came to take the order, she explained briefly but rushed us into ordering. She was quite unfriendly and not accommodating.
This meal wasn't worth £140. The Caesar salad was literally 5 lettuce leaves, and the mash portion tiny.
The steak portion and quality a joke for the price.
Ambience is beautiful, but definitely not worth dining there.

The display of the restaurant was beautiful. However, the food was bad, the fries looked depressed and the steak was hard even though it supposed to be medium rare??
( Mac and cheese was an absolute joke)

Former brewery converted into a restaurant downstairs. Loud noise but nice atmosphere. Nice menu with emphasis on meat. Very good food.

Amazing Sunday roast, probably one of the best I’ve ever had, didn’t know if it would be filling but the portions are plenty as you will definitely not leave hungry, ordered the £29 roast with stuffing and cauliflower cheese additions and it was all so delicious. The atmosphere was fantastic and it was full. Only slight moan would be that all the staff wear their own clothes so sometimes you don’t know who actually works there when you need someone so personally I’d say a uniform of some sort would have been better suited in such a nice establishment

The food here is amazing. We came for Sunday Roast but they were out, so we tried other things on the menu. They were all great. I would highly recommend the bone marrow and onions....too good.

Service was great, they're really good with allergies and the waitress was very helpful talking us through the options to cater for them. Steaks were amazing. Incredibly popular and busy restaurant so account for that when waiting on mains.

My fiance and I traveled from Nottingham to dine here for Valentine's day. We've had the most amazing evening. The cocktails are impeccable, service is swift yet attentive, and the food was obviously prepared using high quality ingredients, and crafted by a skilled kitchen crew. The 3 courses for £35 is unfathomably good value for money. My partner, who hates London, is already planning our next trip back. Thank you for converting him, I'm very excited to come back and be in your restaurant again soon. I will be recommending Hawksmoor to anyone I can.

I'd have to say, this is the best restaurant in London. If you are planning for a special event such as a birthday / event / engagement, this is the place to go. Highly trained staff and great steaks/wine.

I keep coming back for the food, but unfortunately, the service this time was disappointing. I visited the Piccadilly location previously, and despite it being much busier, the service was significantly better. This time, the host at the door was extremely friendly and welcoming, but our waitress had an unpleasant attitude and was nowhere to be found for most of the meal, even though the restaurant was half empty. The food took forever to arrive, which only made the poor service more frustrating. Such a shame, as it completely ruined the experience. I would expect a better service when I spend £180. The rib-eye and the tiramisu were divine!

This place was so good my colleague and I came here two days in a row.
I now have a new favourite drink (sour cherry negroni) and he said it’s the best apple pie he’s ever had. And he’s American. 😝
